What Are Inlays and Onlays?
Inlays and Onlays are dental restorations used to repair decayed or damaged teeth. While inlays fit within the contours of the biting surface of a tooth, onlays extend over the cusps of the damaged tooth. They are a middle ground between fillings and crowns, offering more extensive repair than fillings but less coverage than crowns.
Is This Restoration Right For You?
If you have a tooth that’s too damaged for a filling but not enough to require a crown, inlays and onlays could be your best option. They are especially useful for treating teeth with tricky decay patterns or for patients who prefer a more conservative approach to dental restoration.
